Erection site of Self-supporting Steel Tower
Self-supporting steel tower (SST) is the most popular tower for communication or power transmission and distribution applications. It's generally designed for 3 legs or 4 legs, composed of galvanized tubular steel pipes and angular steel plates by welding and fastening with bolts and nuts. With height of 25m to 110m, the steel lattice towers are widely used for mounting telecommunication macrocell stations and power transmission or distribution wires or cables.
3-legged self-support steel lattice tower is generally made of tubular steel pipes, angle steel plates and flat steel plates. The 3-legged lattice tower is generally divided into several sections which are connected by flanges and flat connecting plates with bolts and nuts. All the tower members are prefabricated with cutout, holes, welding, polishing and hot dip galvanization.

Manufacturing Procedures of Telecom Steel Towers1, Design layout and drawing, set up specifications and sizes.
2, Buy row seamless steel pipes or flat steel plates and folding and welding them to be tubular pipes as well as galvanized steel bolts, nuts, washers and springs.
3, Measure and cut out sizes and holes.
4, Weld necessary parts (such as footing plates, connecting flanges and gussets, antenna mounts, lightning rod, ladder etc.)
5, Polish burrs and welding scars to make all members good surface.
6, Assemble tower sections according to drawings, make sure sizes and connecting parts are correct.
7, Hot dip galvanization: clean surface corrosion and oil with acid or other chemicals-->clean with water-->dip in cosolvents-->dry-->dip in hot zinc pool for galvanization-->cooling and curing-->clean-->dry
8, Check quality and start packing.
